Spending time with his father’s construction kit became a key factor
to the ultimate success of Robert Trotta, more popularly known as Bob Trotta,
the person behind the multimillion-dollar real estate developments in Tuscany
and Jamaica. Had it not been for the small construction business of his family,
Bob Trotta would have been a lecturer of history or a teacher in their village
back then.
Bob would not have helped a lot of kids to read and be passionate in
going to school. But Bob was exposed to the world of construction early on and
because of that, he was veered away from being a teacher or lecturer. He never
looked back since then.
Trotta’s Dream of
Contributing to the Education Sector
He would have been a passionate teacher. Bob Trotta’s ardor for
education is best exemplified by his support to kids aged four and five years
old in Jamaica. Through The Palmyra Foundation, Bob Trotta has given school
text books and other educational materials. As the government of Jamaica does
not supply learning aids to children in pre-school, Bob Trotta wanted to fill
the gap and help eradicate illiteracy in the country.
Through the Palmyra Foundation, Bob Trotta helps provide books to
children to prepare them for the first grade. According to sociologists and
psychologists, pre-school learning is very critical to the development of
children because it is during this time that the brain develops at its maximum
capacity, making it the best time to teach kids. As one of the biggest sponsors
of the foundation, Bob Trotta shares in the mission by improving children’s
self-esteem.
Today, Bob Trotta is almost everywhere. However, he prefers to stay in
Jamaica, a place he believes is where the nicest people in the world live.
According to him, Jamaicans are very welcoming; they remain humble despite the
massive wealth being brought to them by the members of the expat community who
also prefer to stay in the country.
This is also why Bob Trotta is very dedicated to the Palmyra
Foundation. The non-profit charitable organization started just recently in
2007 but because of the efforts of more than 100 international volunteers,
including Bob Trotta, more than 100,000 books and 25,000 children across 14
parishes in Jamaica have received help.
Patience and Luck: Some
Tools for Success
What sets Bob Trotta apart from the rest is his knack for choosing the
locations of his developments. In addition, he knows what the luxury market
demands and he delivers. In Tuscany and Jamaica, he created hotel accommodations
that remain unparalleled up to now.
Despite the fame and luxury, Bob Trotta continues to be humble and
generous. He remains active in his various businesses and investments but his
charitable activities, not only in Jamaica, remain at the forefront of his
agenda.
